Adriano Zumbo has swung open the doors to his most audacious project yet, a luxurious high tea salon and café in the pastry mecca that is South Yarra.
Zumbo Café incorporates a contemporary bakery café, high tea salon and cocktail bar. A new breakfast menu is the latest addition the venue, evolving the offering beyond high tea and pastries. “We had a lot of customers requesting breakfast and I’m a firm believer in giving them what they want” said Zumbo. “By adding breakfast to the line-up we’re aiming to make the Daly Street space a one stop shop. Customers can grab a fresh pastry and coffee to go, or if they feel like sticking around, sit down for breakfast”.
You can expect a gentle nod to Zumbo’s Italian roots with dishes such as crumpets with burrata, fresh berries and maple syrup. There’s also a twist on the humble bacon and egg roll, the breakfast burger is loaded with bacon, smoked mozzarella, pancetta, fried egg, ragu and ricotta.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any sweeter, one special Saturday per month the Zumbo Dessert Bar will come to life and showcase a new hero ingredient which will feature in every dish across the menu. The hero ingredient each month has been selected from the best produce that month has to offer. With a choice of 3 or 5 course set menus – or your selection of individual dishes – there’s something for everyone. If you still can’t decide, you can opt for Chef’s tasting plate of 4 samples from the menu. Bookings are essential.
